Lillian Burgess has lived for twenty-one years on a farm in Grey County,
where she, her husband, Jon, and three sons built their home with wood from
their own bush. 


About a dozen pieces of Lillian’s work have appeared in Mosaic. When not
tending trees or garden, she creates drawings, paintings, and quilts.


Living in the woods, Lillian feels “fortunate to still have so much forest
here, with beautiful species of trees.” She is happy to be part of a
project that celebrates them. We are glad she accepted the challenge of
editing others’ words about trees in Wood Words:a celebration of forests.
