Reading and writing poetry are private pleasures.  Reading poetry in front of an audience is a performance.  No matter how good a poet you are, if you come across weakly or with anxiety, enjoyment of your poems will be compromised.

With a few simple exercises you can transform your presentation into a delightful performance that will benefit both you and your audience.

Daniel Kolos has been trained by CBC Radio producers, Toastmasters, and poets such as Penn Kemp, Sheri-D Wilson and Amanda Hiebert in the various techniques of public presentation.  He has been a performance poet since 1997 and has had over 150 poetry readings throughout Southern Ontario, Michigan and Indiana.

In 2003 Pendas Productions of London published his first poetry collection, Slipped Out.

In 2006 a CD version of this book came out, Daniel Kolos Reads his PoetryHis second book, From One Child to Another, (Battered Silicone Dispatch Box, Shelburne, ON, 2007) was launched in May, 2007.  He recently finished a series of ninety-nine inspirational poems based on the 13th century Sufi mystic poet, Rumi.

Daniel is a member of the Highway 4 Writers (since 1985), Words Aloud Poetry Cooperative (Since 1999), The Ontario Poetry Society (Since 2003) and the League of Canadian Poets (Since 2007).  In October, 2008, Daniel founded SOUNDS: words and music series with seven other poets in Owen Sound.
