Fishing Tips

"Fishing Tips from Club Members and Charter Boat Operators"

As of Friday June 4, 2004 the waters remained cold with surface temperatures hovering around the 50 Degree Mark. The best fishing appears to be from Kincardine to the BNPD.

Rumour has it that the Salmon arrived near Goderich this week which traditionally means the fishing will improve to the north in the near future.

Fishing this Spring has not been as good as most years on both sides of the big water.

Additional Information

Last year (2003) as  season rolled along the fishing slowed and the fish being caught were smaller then average. In fact the Winning Chantry Salmon would not have made the Top 25 in 2002! Let's hope this trend ends in 2004!

The limit for Rainbow Trout in Lake Huron and Georgian Bay is two fish not five like other areas of Ontario.

On Thursday May 1, 2003 Bob Izumi of The Real Fishing TV Show with Jim Flemming went 14 for 24 while fishing Huron waters. Bob was extremely impressed with the action, cleaning station, harbour facility and the hatchery. The shows aired during the winter of 2004.

The Club needs to take a some well deserved responsibility for the good words Bob Izumi expressed for his first visit to this community and these waters.  Jim is a top notch charter angler who deserves thanks for his work in hosting Bob this week and next week Charlie Wray from the Fishful Thinking Show returning for a second visit in as many years.
