Dear Renee, I work with Beth C. and, through her, I’ve become a frequent visitor to your website. Not because I plan to adopt anytime soon as I have a wonderful 11 year old GSD cross that we adopted from the Orangville Humane Society 9 years ago, but because I love to read about the animals that others had given up on and see them find their happy endings. My dog, Coco, was 2 years old when we adopted him and had been in various shelters for a year of his life. He had no hair between his head and tail due to stress but, when we got him home it turned out that he was an amazing companion and has given me more comfort and friendship in the last 9 years then I could ever convey and I would have been lost without him. THESE DOGS COUNT!! What you’re doing is so important and gives me a renewed faith in a humanity I sometimes find so cruel and cold. When I learned that you were under attack, I was appalled. I read the article written in the Owen Sound Sun and shook my head! Where was this proof that the reporter alluded to? There was nothing in there but hearsay from former employees….and we all know how reliable a disgruntled employee can be! It also didn’t take a rocket scientist to read a letter to the editor on Saturday claiming that the writer was worried about your cat cages and then to find that another local shelter was soliciting for donations for some 3 tiered cat cages….hmmmm…..I truly hope that those that defamed you are made to face up their false allegations and pay the consequences! It’s easy to see with all that you do that you are a strong person and I’m glad you have your vindication and can move on. I look forward to years and years of visiting your site and smiling at all your successes. Owen Sound should be VERY proud of their shelter!!Sincerely,Shannon N.
