Hydrogen Alpha Images
The electromagnetic spectrum is comprised of radiation
of various wavelengths from
microwaves and infrared through visible light and beyond to the
ultraviolet and high energy X-rays
and gamma rays. Visible light is a tiny slice of that spectrum,
covering about 400-700 nanometers.
When you isolate the visible spectrum even further by using a hydrogen
alpha filter, images
take on a different appearance. The following series of images
are hydrogen alpha images taken
with the Takahashi Epsilon 180ED and Takahashi FSQ106ED telescopes and
the SBIG camera.
