Capercaillie Pipe Band Activities
This year the band has been involved in parades and
competitions from Michigan to New York.
In March we played in the St. Patrick's Day parades
in Rochester and Buffalo. We spent a great evening in the pub, "The Fiddler's
Green" in Rochester and made money busking on the streets of Buffalo.
A cold day in Buffalo.
In May we played at the Alma Highland Games.
A mild day in Michigan.
We placed in the midrange of the bands; as we mostly
have not competed before, this seemed a fair result.
Tic-Tac Officer?
That night we watched the Frasers play and were impressed
by their playing and the size of the egos involved.
The Bill at Work.
A Drum-Major at work.
.
In June and July we have played at games in Fort
Erie, Embro and Cambridge. Later we came seventh at Fergus, right in middle
of the pack.
Guess who's in green?
At the Sarnia Games one of our members distinguished
himself by throwing himself on a bag of beer cans that he thought were
going to explode.
The band played at the Kincardine Homecoming, the
Paisley Beef Fest and the Goderich Lions Park as well as spending a great
weekend in Tobermory.
