The Queen's Own McKamikaze Highlanders Pipe Band "They jump out of castles without a parachute.".   The Girls The Capercaillie Pipe Band is a proud descendant of the Queen's Own McKamikaze Highlanders Pipe Band of Canada. The Queen's Own McKamikazes was a proud highland battalion dating from the Fenian Raids. Many memorable pipe tunes have been written to commemorate the exploits of this regiment. Who can forget "The Retreat from the Bruce Inn", "Wee Willie's Rant", or the beautiful "Laidlaw 9200's Return to the Bruce". As a result of the reorganization of regiments The Queen's Own McKamikaze Highlanders was amalgamated with the 160th Bruce Battalion. Along with the Battalion amalgamation the Pipe Bands were amalgamated under the name the Bruce County Pipe Band. Although the The Queen's Own McKamikaze Highlanders are gone, we remember them every time we jump out of second story windows.
