Spider Facts
Spiders are members of a class of animals called arachnids, which also includes scorpions, mites, sun or wind spiders, and harvestmen ( or daddy long legs ). Of them all, the spiders which belong to the order Araneida are the largest group. There are about 35,000 known species in the world.

The body of the spider is divided into prosoma and
opisthosoma, The other main parts of its anatomy are:
four pairs of legs, the pedipalps, the chelicerae, the
simple eyes, and the spinnerets.
The chelicerae are two small appendages found at either
side of the mouth. Each ends in a hollow fang. Almost all
spiders inject poison through these fangs.
